The Foundation 4 Orphans is looking for partners.
The F4O – Zoe Empowers Program is based on individual groups of 25 – 30 youth-led families. The number of families varies between 25 and 30 based on how many siblings are in each family and where they live. The goal is to have a total of 80 – 100 in each group.
The groups are led by the oldest member of the family, who are in the 15 – 18 age range. This young man or women will usually have 1 – 3 siblings. This family unit will usually live in the home their parents had lived in – often a cinderblock shack with a tin roof and lacking a kitchen or bathroom, with an outhouse nearby.
Sponsorship for each group costs $9,500 per year for a total of three years.
This $9,500 is used to empower the head of each family – the 15 to 18 year-old young man or woman. This includes training on food security, disease prevention, child rights, and a focus on education. The key training is in income generation with vocational training.
These family leaders meet weekly with each other for support and worship. Connections to God are made, and the young people become more involved in the community.
Groups can be sponsored in full or partial sponsorships. For instance, two churches or organizations can work together to sponsor a group for $4,750 each for three years, or three churches or organizations can each donate $3,166 for the three years.
